Con Duyen - Dan Ca Quan Ho Bac Ninh
A special type of folk song cultivated primarily in the Bac Ninh district of Ha Bac province. This tradition evolved from the "singing meetings" between young men and women from different villages. They would sing verses to each other to demonstrate their ability to compose verse and music.
Une chanson folklorique de la region Bac Ninh dans la province Ha Bac. Les jeunes hommes et jeunes femmes des differents villages se recontraient pour chanter ensemble afin de montrer leur talent a composer des vers et de la musique.

Thi Mau Len Chua - Hat Cheo
This form of musical theatre from the 11th century which evolved from popular festivities is basically satirical. Its repertory includes historical plays, but deals mainly with social satire in which the village authorities were often criticized.
Visite de Thi Mau a la pagode: piece CHEO, forme de theatre datee du 11e siecle est une satire du milieu social. Thi Mau une jeune fille qui tombe amoureuse d'un moine. Celuici est en realite une femme deguisee en moine afin de pouvoir pratiquer la religion.

Ho Nen
"Ho" are work songs sung by workers to reinforce themselves for difficult jobs. Vietnamese countrymen, even when they did hard labor, like hauling wood, pushing carts or rowing boats, were still able to contemplate and sing romantic ballads.
Les "Ho" sont chantes par les ouvriers afin de s'aguerrir aux travaux les plus difficiles. Les travailleurs Vietnamiens parviennent a chanter ces chansons tres romantiques meme lors des travaux durs, comme tirer le bois, pousser les chariots ou ramer sur les embarcations.

Ho Lo
Folk songs orginating from the South. In South Vietnam, most "Ho" or calls are water calls because the main mode of transportation in this region is by the rivers. The workman, who moves in calm waters does not need much energy, and as such, calls in the South are mostly slow, and can be classified as calls for greetings, or calls for fun.
Les chansons folkloriques originaires du Sud du Vietnam. Dans cette region, la plupart les appels a portee de voix, les "Ho" sont entendus sur les rivieres. Les flots sont generalement calmes ainsi ces appels de salutations amicales et de courtoisie refletent la traquilite de la vie au Sud du pays.
